Assembly '05 Results

The results of the Assembly 2005 demo party are out. I expect that next year the browser category will be chockas with Flash on account of Flash 8's pixel-manipulation speediness.

I still long for the day when a demo compo site manages to post a list of results with clickable direct download links; why is this so difficult? Luckily there's pouet.net in the mean time.

Flash 8 looks cool but I have a crush for JavaScript and there's still a lot to do with it. For instance in Neja I generate some 24bits BMP images in realtime. Ok the resolution is low but it's way faster than the one zillion DIV technique and it shows a whole new range of possibilities for JavaScript.

The browser demo compo of the Assembly'06 will be even more interesting than this year.

Milo: I think you'd prefer to browse on Scene.org in /pub/parties/2005/assembly05/. Actually this is where (almost) all the demoscene prods are uploaded.

Yeah, but they're not sorted by results! I don't want to download all demos, just the best ones... What would be really great is if results.txt were a html file with links to the files in question (doesn't seem too hard but I've never seen it done for any compo, argh).
